College Football at its BEST!

It was a great night for college football fans.  It started with the Missouri vs. Auburn game where the final score looked more like a basketball game with Auburn winning 59 – 42.  Auburn’s Tre Mason was in total beast mode rushing for 304 yards a SEC title game record.  But you have to give it to Missouri they hung in there refusing to get beat like Duke.

Poor Duke.

The first couple minutes of the game some on twitter liked to believe Duke had a fighting chance.  Then before you could say “National Championship” Jameis Winston and the rest of the Noles went on the attack.  Winston now has FBS records for touchdowns and yards as a freshman.  He also needs to make room for the Heisman trophy – I mean come on folks, he sealed the deal tonight. I also think it was cool of FSU for giving Duke a nice parting gift towards the end of the game allowing them to score. FSU 45 – Duke 7.

Speaking of a parting gift…. Michigan State was nice enough to give Auburn an early Christmas present by giving the Ohio State Buckeyes a good old fashion beat down and dashing their dreams of playing for the National title.  Now don’t get me wrong Braxton Miller was amazing and if it wasn’t for Miller running 21 times for 142 yards and two scores the game would have been uglier.  But Miller and his boys was no match for the Spartans who will be returning to the Rose Bowl the first time since 1988. Michigan State 34 – Ohio State 24.

So now we can rejoice knowing that Florida State and Auburn will be playing for the National Championship.  Yes college football at its best!
