CONGRATS to the 2013 NBA Champions

It was a series to remember! The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs both wanted the championship more than anything, going at it like Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed.  Neither team giving in – one night the Spurs, the next the Heat.  The series introduced us to stars in the making – the Spurs Gary Neal, Danny Green and my favorite – Mr. Silent but deadly – Kawhi Leonard.

The series was the Good, the Bad and the sometimes very ugly all rolled into one.  It didn’t disappoint and if you are a basketball fan you thoroughly enjoyed it!

Game 7 was everything we wanted in a NBA finals game.  But at the end the winners and back to back champions were the Miami Heat.  Yes the spurs lost (the final score speaks for itself 95-88) but the Spurs gained our respect and Tim Duncan reminded us that “Age ain’t nothing but a number.”

LeBron James who was named finals MVP and deservedly so scored 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  He reminded us why he is the King.

So now the pressure is on – can the Miami Heat win three in a row.  Will the team break up? (Hey if they get rid of Bosh I won’t lose any sleep – just saying) the off-season is definitely going to be interesting.

LeBron’s quote after winning his 2nd NBA Championship said it all – he reminds us that he is after all “human” and stop listening to the haters and just do YOU!

“Listen, for me, I can’t worry about what everybody say about me,” James said. “I’m LeBron James from Akron, Ohio, from the inner city. I’m not even supposed to be here. That’s enough. Every night I walk into the locker room, I see a number 6 jersey with ‘James’ on the back. I’m blessed. So what everybody’s saying about me off the court don’t matter.”
