Goodbye to a BEAST

We all know to play in the NFL you are a good player.  To be a beast in the NFL you have to be a bad ass and the biggest bad ass at one time was Steelers linebacker James Harrison.  Not only was he intimidating on the field his glare off the field could get you too.

Harrison recently announced his retirement on Facebook stating –

“I have made the difficult decision to retire as of today,” Harrison’s statement said. “My love for my family and the need to be there for them outweighs my desire to play the game. I have missed too many experiences with them because I devoted SO much time to my career.

“My love for the game isn’t strong enough to make up for missing one more birthday or first day of school.”

After being drafted out of Kent State he played 10 of his 11 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers; he was a five time Pro-Bowler and won two Super Bowl rings.

Harrison was also known to pay some hefty fines for hitting but even with that he was still a team and fan favorite.  I will miss the Beast and I wish him all the best and can’t wait to see him in the Hall of Fame.
