New Kidd on the Block

Jason Kidd after retiring what seems like days ago has landed a new job.

Kidd is now the new head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.  After 19 illustrious years in the NBA with four different teams the former point guard, ten-time NBA All-Star, five-time All NBA first team member and nine-time NBA All-Defensive team member is officially a coach.

To say some were shocked would be an understatement.  Everyone couldn’t believe that in a matter of days after retiring his jersey for good he was on his way to a suit and tie and a new job.  But just not any job – he is now the head coach of a team many see as doing great things in the future.

But hey it happens – let’s not forget Avery Johnson did the same thing.  Johnson started coaching the Dallas Mavericks just five months after he retired.

So how will Kidd be as a new coach? Who knows but it will be interesting to see what happens next season.  The one thing I do know for sure – this “Kidd” can handle the spotlight and the NBA.
